On Ops-Core AMP Connectorized, the downlead decides whether a normal mono Constant Able or mono U-94 path is valid. Wrong cable class is a common reason land PTTs “don’t work.”
Modular chain
Headset body + Fischer downlead + PTT + radio. After you know the cable class, finish the match on the PTT Selector.
The AMP boom is a dynamic ~150Ω mic—same mil land class as stock ComTac.

Dual mono on AMP
Use two monaural U174 downleads and two PTTs (one per radio)—not one mono-binaural cable “doing dual,” and not stereo U174 as a dual-mono substitute. Architecture definitions: Dual Comms.
Not a mono land CA path
- U174 Stereo — platform dual only → Dual Comms
- U384 — special stereo / multi-pin path
- MPU5 — Persistent Systems path
- ICS / SMAHT — aircraft / ICS impedance conversion (150Ω→5Ω). Using these into a standard land PTT is a common cause of weak or no TX.
