If a 5-conductor headset plug will not fully seat in a mono push-to-talk jack, you often need a depth spacer—not a different radio connector.

The seating problem

Forced into a mono jack without a spacer, a TP-105 often does not seat—intermittent audio or no connection. Common on dual-comm style plugs, including many Atlantic Signal–modified dual-channel Peltors.
Different product: Atlantic Signal MH-180 bone-conduction headsets are a mic-path issue (dynamic → correct amp path), not an O-ring seating fix.
What the O-rings do
They act as a standoff so the plug reaches proper depth in a mono TP-101 jack.
In a mono PTT jack, audio is treated as mono-binaural. That is plug-depth correction only—not a second PTT and not full dual-net architecture. For true two-net setups see Dual Comms.
